INDEPENDANCE DAY.

Updated: May 18, 2023

"I'm fiercely independent, but I'm also terrified of being alone" - Adam Levine

Students,

If you have received your exam results today, well done.

If you have decided to celebrate by spending the evening getting ready with your friends and going out to party all night long night, well done.

If you have decided to spend the evening with a couple of your friends or just one friend, going to town for a bite to eat, to the cinema, or chilling out at home, well done.

If you have decided to spend the evening with your family doing whatever you do as a family, walking, talking, milking the cows, well done.

If you have decided to come out of school, hop on the bus or get into your waiting car and apart from congratulations and a high five from family, continue with your day as normal, well done.

If you have decided to dance around the kitchen, just you and the cat/dog, or if you decided to curl up on the sofa and relax, savouring the years in school with a satisfied smile on your face, well done.

If you did not do any of the above, if you did not attend school the day of your results because you decided you would along with your parent/s or without, access your results on-line, well done.

It is all well done to you because the most important thing is that you are happy and you had peace to learn.

This is what really matters, this is the most important thing because if you are in a place you can learn, you will always be able to do your best.

This is every parent’s wish.

That their child is happy in school and they have peace to learn (without being bullied) to enjoy their life and time at school.

What you chose to do on the day you receive your exams results should be your choice.

Someone once said life is a dream, someone once said life is just one big party.

So, sometimes one will be dreaming and sometimes one will be partying.

But if you can trust yourself to do what makes you happy, it will always work out just the way it should.

Because no one knows you better than you know yourself.

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognise, accept and celebrate those differences - (Audre Lorde)
